This is right more a list for me, what patterns to describe more fully. |

I will try going systematically through all pattern changes using [[siteswap]] theory, because there are many of those [[pattern]]s/[[tricks]] and it helps to have a systematic way to go through them. There are also some things that cannot be expressed by siteswap. |

I will also write throws as numbers an not letters, because there are too many different throws to use one-letter codes that are obvious. To see a translation of numbers to throws, see the table in [[2 juggler half-synchronous siteswap]] |

This pattern is part of the Selfs and Passes series.
Patterns to do before this one
- stable 3 club cascade
- 5-club 1-count
4-count
This pattern is period 4, so all passes only happen from the right hand (or only from the left hand).
half-synchronous Siteswap: <3p|3|3|3, 3p|3|3|3>
In two lines, one for each juggler:
A 1|2: 3p 3 3 3 B 1|2: 3p 3 3 3
Sequence: A and B start at the same time and both throw straight passes:
P=pass
S=self
A 1|2: P S S S B 1|2: P S S S
Additional Things to Do
As this (and the other n-count patterns) has been a very common pattern for a long time, it has accumulated many tricks to do.
Siteswap changes on your side
All of the following changes do not change the pattern of the other juggler, but happen solely on your side.
I will try going systematically through all pattern changes using siteswap theory, because there are many of those patterns/tricks and it helps to have a systematic way to go through them. There are also some things that cannot be expressed by siteswap.
I will also write throws as numbers an not letters, because there are too many different throws to use one-letter codes that are obvious. To see a translation of numbers to throws, see the table in 2 juggler half-synchronous siteswap
Throw sequence (only one juggler shown, the other one can stay in regular 4-count or do other tricks):
I will additionally insert a "|" after every 4 beats - the pass would normally come after the "|"
- normal 4-count:
3p 3 3 3 | 3p 3 3 3 | 3p 3 3 3
I start with the pass of a normal 4-count and again end with throws of a normal 4-count to show the transitions.
As the pattern siteswap is 3p333, any 33 can be swapped for 42 (even if the 3 is a 3p)
--> 2334p, 3p423, 3p342, 42p33
- early double 2334p
3p 3 3 4p | 2 3 3 3 | 3p 3 3 3
- 3p423
3p 3 3 3 | 3p 4 2 3 | 3p 3 3 3
- 3p342
3p 3 3 3 | 3p 3 4 2 | 3p 3 3 3
- 42p33
3p 3 3 3 | 4 2p 3 3 | 3p 3 3 3
Then we can change 33 to 42 twice in the same period:
--> 2424p, 2p424
- 2424p
3p 3 3 4p | 2 4 2 3 | 3p 3 3 3
- 2p424
3p 3 3 3 | 4 2p 4 2 | 3p 3 3 3
and most 333 can be swapped to 441 (the 1 shouldnt become a pass)
--> 4134p, 3p441,
- 4134p
3p 3 3 4p | 4 1 3 3 | 3p 3 3 3
- 3p441
3p 3 3 3 | 3p 4 4 1 | 3p 3 3 3
- 1344p
3p 3 4 4p | 1 3 3 3 | 3p 3 3 3
or against 531
--> 3135p, 3p531, 3p135
- 3135p
3p 3 5p 3 | 1 3 3 3 | 3p 3 3 3
- 3p531
3p 3 3 3 | 3p 5 3 1 | 3p 3 3 3
- 3p135
3p 3 3 5 | 3p 1 3 3 | 3p 3 3 3
Changes that change the partners pattern
- late double 4p333 (partner has to react with the "2" as a hold by not throwing)
- 444 - go into juggling 4-clubs until you continue by throwing a pass
Non-Siteswap Changes
- all kinds of tricks like tomahawks, helis, under-the-leg throws, backcross-passes, etc, etc, etc
- make a step after throwing your pass, before catching the other pass. Catch with the right hand. If you do a step on each pass, you are now in a slow 3-count vs the 4-count of the other juggler. The other juggler has to continue throwing straight at the place where passes used to go.
Next Patterns
Any other patterns of the Selfs and Passes series.
