You call an object in a pattern magic, when the siteswap number is the same as the period of the pattern.
As a consequence this object will only do this one type of throw.
Or seen the other way around: you can color-code this one throw in the pattern by giving the object that is thrown a specific color.
Example:
- one-person 531: period 3, so the 3 is magic. Two objects are doing 5,1 all the time, one only does 3
