Evil side of 7-club 2-count

From jugglingpatterns

This pattern is what you get when you take a 7-club 2-count (doubles) and you turn the whole pattern by 90° - i.e. the hands of the two jugglers on one side of the pattern become the hands of juggler A, the two hands on the other side become the hands of juggler B.

Caveat: This is a pattern I haven't personally done, but some people have and I can write down the theory and describe the pattern.

So instead of:

  • double passes, there are double selfs
  • right hand of A in sync with left hand of B, A and B alternatingly both have to do synchronous throws of a double-self and a single-pass

Siteswap:

A2|2 (4x,3) ()
B2|1 () (4x,3)
  • Jugglers do their throws at different times, i.e. different beats in the pattern
  • (throwA,throwB)-Brackets denote throws of the person happening synchronously, i.e. at the same time
  • () empty brackets are beats on which this juggler doesn't have throws.
  • 4x is a crossing double-self arriving at the other hand 4 beats later
  • 3 is a pass. It is not written as "3p", because 3 beats later only the other juggler has a throw, so 3 or any odd number is already by definition a pass.

In words: A begins with (double-self,pass), B follows one beat (or half a beat if seen from the perspective of a single juggler), also with (self, doublepass)

A2|2 (double-self, single-pass) ()
B2|1 () (double-self, single-pass)

Variants // Tricks // Other Things

  • the throw done is equivalent to (3x,4) - a crossing single-pass from the left hand and a heff on the right hand.
  • "early double": (5x,3) - a straight single pass from the right as before and at the same time a crossing double pass from the left hand followed by (4x,2), a hold on the right hand, to skip the pass we already did from our left.
