Half-synchronous

From jugglingpatterns

When there are two jugglers and hence 4 hands, there are several possible combinations of how throws can happen at the same time, that I would call "half-synchronous":

  • right hand of both jugglers at the same time (and also both left hands)
  • right hand of A and left hand of B at the same time

These are the most common ones, where patterns like 4-count, 3-count, etc. are of the 1st type and 7 club 2-count is of the second type.

Usually I mean these types of patterns, as the following ones do not have so many well-known patterns up to now (which may change over time):

  • the hands of both jugglers throw at the same time, but the jugglers alternate in throwing

These are kind of rare. Examples are the 6 club one-count in which jugglers throw with both hands at the same time.

  • 3 hands throw at the same time, the 4th throws between the beats of the other 3

You get these by mixing e.g. 7 club 2-count with evil side of 7-club 2-count, but I haven't seen any of those written up yet.
