Pattern Description
This is a half-synchronous pattern, in which the left hand of one juggler does a throw at the same time as the right hand of the other juggler:
- both do straight passes
- A has 3 clubs and B has 2 clubs
- A starts with the right hand
Siteswap, long form:
A (hand): R L R L A (2|1): 2p 3 2p 3 B (1|1): 3 2p 3 2p B (hand): L R L R
Syntax explanation:
2p is a zap (a throw that arrives 2 beats later and is thrown as a pass)
3 is a self (a throw that arrives 3 beats later)
Sequence: zap, self
Full sequence in words:
A (hand): R L R L A (2|1): zap self zap self B (1|1): self zap self zap B (hand): L R L R
A and B start at the same time, A starts with the right hand throwing a zap, B starts with the left hand throwing a self.
- Both throw straight zaps
Variants
- Variant: Both throw diagonal zaps - then both start with the right hand and B throws zaps from the left hand and the right hands of both jugglers throw at the same time
- Straigt left-handed zaps: Make sure to switch hands, so you also practice your zaps from the left hand
- Early single passes: instead of "self, zap", you can throw "pass, flip" with a diagonal pass if you were doing straight zaps and vice versa.
- You can even combine the early single with a super-early double pass:
Just early single (juggler B):
A (2|1): 2p 3 2p 3 B (1|1): 3p 2 3 2p
Early single followed by super-early double:
A (2|1): 2p 3 2p 3 B (1|1): 3p 4p 1 2
