Sibling Pattern

This is the sibling pattern to 5-count vs doublepass, self, zip, self - 9667266666. The difference between the patterns is, which side has only selfs between passes and which has a self-zip in the sequence.

Pattern Description

This is the 4-count version of 5-count vs doublepass, self, zip, self - 9667266666.

Main advantage is that 4-count is historically one of the most-juggled patterns known by everyone. Disadvantage is that it has passes only from one hand - which might be an advantage if you are mainly trying to prepare for a 7-club 2-count (doubles).

Straight passes (both sides): A starts with a double pass, B starts a bit later with a self from the left hand and a pass and then has what seems like a regular 4-count.

A starts with two clubs in the right hand and one club in the left and begins with a double pass from the right.

B also has 3 clubs and either starts with two clubs in left hand with a self half a beat later or starts with a pass from the right hand 1.5 beats later. In either case, this is the same start for B as in the more difficult 7-club 3-count 966.

 A2|1: D   S   Z   S
 B1|2:   S   P   S   S

P = single pass

D = double pass

S = self

Z = zip

Additional Things To Do

  • Juggler with single passes can throw early doubles, if the pattern feels comfortable.
  • The side with single passes and 4 regular selfs can replace the 3 selfs with 441 (heff, heff, zip) or 531 (triple, self, zip)
  • The self-zip can be switched against [[flip]-flip
  • The zip can be done behind the back
